Gunbook Limited — Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 5 October 2026
1. About Us
Gunbook is operated by: Gunbook Limited, 1 Myrtle Road, Carlton, Nottingham, NG4 1RE, Company Number 17322846. Email: hello@gunbook.co.uk Website: www.gunbook.co.uk
References in these Terms to "Gunbook", "we", "us" or "our" mean Gunbook Limited.
References to "you", "your", "user" or "customer" mean the person or organisation accessing the website or app, creating an account or purchasing products or services from us.
"Customer" includes, without distinction unless stated otherwise: (a) a registered user of the Gunbook app; (b) a person ordering through the Gunbook website; and (c) a person or organisation (including an estate, shoot operator or other business) who commissions a bespoke personalised book or design directly from us, whether or not they hold a Gunbook account, and whether the order is placed through the app, the website, or by quote, email or invoice. These Terms apply to all three routes except where a clause expressly says otherwise (see in particular Section 12 on personalisation and Section 28 on business customers).
"Order" means any request to purchase a personalised Gunbook or other product, however it is placed — through the app or website's ordering process, or by accepting a quote or invoice for a bespoke commission.
2. The Gunbook Service
Gunbook provides digital services designed to allow users to record, organise, preserve and relive game-shooting days and related experiences.
Depending on the features available from time to time, Gunbook may enable users to record or upload information including: shooting dates and locations; shoot names and estates; drives; peg or Gun positions; photographs; participants; species; birds shot; shots fired; weather information; maps; notes and memories; shoot-day statistics; host, keeper and Gun information; accommodation or hospitality information; invitations and attendance information; and other shooting-day information.
Gunbook may also allow customers to use information stored within their account to create a customised physical Gunbook or other personalised products, including bespoke commissions described in Section 11A.
Features may be added, changed or removed from time to time.
3. Who May Use Gunbook
You must be at least 18 years old to enter into a paid contract with Gunbook unless the contract is entered into by a parent or legal guardian on your behalf.
Separately, you must be at least 16 years old to create a Gunbook account in your own right. Where a user is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must be the contracting party for any paid order and remains responsible for the account and its content.
You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your login information.
You must notify us promptly if you believe somebody has accessed your account without permission.
You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless that activity was caused by our failure to take reasonable security measures.
You may not create an account using false details, impersonate another person or use another person's account without permission.
4. Gunbook Is a Recording Service, Not a Shooting Safety System
Gunbook is principally intended to record and preserve shooting experiences.
It is not a substitute for: instructions from a gamekeeper, shoot captain, host or other person responsible for a shoot; proper firearms training; safe firearms handling; checking your surroundings before firing; maps or professional navigation systems; emergency services; firearms licensing requirements; landowner permission; wildlife or game legislation; local shoot rules; or any legal, regulatory or safety obligation applying to you.
Locations, maps, weather information, peg positions, drive information, bird movements, beater positions and other information displayed by Gunbook may be approximate, delayed, incomplete or inaccurate.
Never rely solely on Gunbook when making a safety-critical decision involving a firearm.
Every user remains personally responsible for handling firearms safely and complying with applicable legislation, certificates, licences, shoot rules and instructions.
Nothing within Gunbook constitutes legal advice or confirmation that shooting a particular species, at a particular location, on a particular date or in a particular manner is lawful.
5. Your Account and Information
You are responsible for ensuring information entered into Gunbook is accurate before relying on it or using it to produce a personalised book.
Gunbook does not independently verify shooting records, photographs, bag numbers, shots fired, species, participants, locations or other information entered by users.
Statistics and reports generated by Gunbook depend upon the information supplied to us and may therefore contain inaccuracies if the underlying data is incomplete or incorrect.
You should independently verify any information that is required for legal, regulatory, estate-management, accounting, insurance or official record-keeping purposes.
6. User-Generated Content
"User Content" means photographs, images, text, comments, shoot information, maps, names, logos, statistics, records and other material uploaded or submitted to Gunbook by you.
You retain ownership of your User Content.
By uploading User Content, you grant Gunbook a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, process, resize, crop, format and otherwise use that content only as reasonably necessary to: (1) operate the Gunbook service; (2) display the content within your account; (3) provide features requested by you; (4) generate digital previews; (5) manufacture personalised products ordered by you; (6) provide technical support; (7) maintain backups and service security; and (8) fulfil our contractual and legal obligations.
This licence also allows us to provide the relevant material to our printers, hosting providers, technology providers, fulfilment partners and other contractors where reasonably necessary to provide the service or manufacture your order.
We do not acquire ownership of your photographs or other User Content simply because you upload them to Gunbook.
6A. Content Submitted via Social Media, Email or Post
Where you send us a photograph or video other than by uploading it to the app or website — for example, by email, by post, by replying or commenting on one of our social media posts, or by direct message — the licence in Section 6 applies to that content in the same way, and we may additionally use it across our social media channels, our website, and in physical or digital Gunbooks, for promotional or demonstration purposes.
We will not use or share your name, address, shoot location, estate name or other identifying details alongside such a photograph or video without your separate agreement — only the image or video itself.
You remain responsible, as set out in Section 7, for ensuring you have the necessary rights and permissions (including from any other identifiable people shown) before sending us such content, and the indemnity in Section 7 applies to it.
If you do not want a photograph or video used in this way, you can ask us not to (or to stop) by contacting us at hello@gunbook.co.uk; we will stop future use, though we cannot guarantee removal from material already published or from books already printed for other customers.
7. Your Responsibility for Photographs and Other Content
You must only upload material that you are legally entitled to use.
By uploading or submitting content, you confirm that: you own the content or have the necessary permission to use it; its use by Gunbook in accordance with these Terms will not infringe another person's copyright, trade mark, privacy, confidentiality or other rights; where appropriate, you have permission to use photographs or information relating to other identifiable people; and the content is lawful.
You are particularly responsible for ensuring that you have appropriate permission before uploading photographs of children or other persons where consent may be required.
You must not upload content that is unlawful, threatening, defamatory, discriminatory, obscene, deliberately misleading, malicious, invasive of another person's privacy or which infringes intellectual property rights.
We may remove, restrict or refuse content where we reasonably believe it breaches these Terms or applicable law.
You agree to indemnify Gunbook against any claims, costs, damages or liabilities we reasonably incur as a result of a breach by you of the warranties in this Section 7, except to the extent caused by our own breach of these Terms.
8. Gunbook Intellectual Property
Except for User Content, all intellectual property rights in Gunbook belong to Gunbook Limited or its licensors. This includes, where applicable: the GUNBOOK name; logos and branding; app design; website design; software; source code and object code; databases; interfaces; book templates; graphic designs; icons; illustrations; maps created by Gunbook; page layouts; typography; reports; algorithms; written content; and other proprietary materials.
You are granted a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the Gunbook app and website in accordance with these Terms.
You may not copy, reverse engineer, reproduce, distribute, sell, licence or commercially exploit Gunbook's software, designs, templates or other intellectual property without our written permission.
Bespoke commissioned designs. Where you commission a bespoke design or layout created specifically for your order (see Section 11A), Gunbook retains ownership of the underlying design work, but grants you a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use that specific design in connection with the product(s) you ordered. Gunbook may reuse general design techniques, layouts or styles developed during a bespoke commission for other customers, but will not resell or reproduce a design that is clearly and distinctively tied to your shoot, estate name or logo without your permission.
9. Website and App Availability
We aim to provide a reliable service but cannot guarantee that the app, website or every feature will always be available without interruption.
We may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, upgrades, security reasons or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We may modify the app or website to improve functionality, security, compatibility or performance.
We do not guarantee that Gunbook will operate with every device, operating system, browser or third-party service.
Users should keep their device operating system and the Gunbook app reasonably up to date.
10. Subscriptions and Digital Services
Certain Gunbook features may require a paid subscription. The applicable subscription price, billing frequency, features and subscription period will be displayed before you subscribe.
Where a subscription renews automatically, this will be clearly stated before purchase. Unless otherwise stated, an automatically renewing subscription will continue until cancelled in accordance with the cancellation arrangements displayed within Gunbook or the relevant app store.
You may prevent future renewals by cancelling your subscription before the next renewal date. Cancellation normally prevents future charges but does not retrospectively cancel a period that has already been purchased, except where applicable law gives you a right to a refund.
Where payment is taken through Apple, Google or another app-store provider, the provider's payment and cancellation procedures may also apply.
Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory cancellation or cooling-off right available to you. Where applicable law permits immediate supply of digital content or digital services during a statutory cancellation period, we may ask you expressly to request immediate supply and acknowledge any effect that doing so has upon your statutory cancellation rights.
We will comply with any mandatory subscription, renewal, reminder or cancellation requirements applying under UK law from time to time.
11. Creating a Personalised Gunbook
Gunbook enables customers to create highly personalised physical books using information, photographs and other content selected by the customer. Each personalised book may therefore be unique.
Before ordering, you will be given an opportunity to review the book, preview, pages or other order information made available through the ordering process. You are responsible for checking the entire book carefully before ordering. This includes checking: names; dates; spelling; grammar; captions; photographs; photograph quality; photograph orientation; photograph cropping; page order; shoot information; bag information; shot numbers; species; maps; locations; drive information; logos; colours where relevant; and any other personalised information.
Gunbook is not responsible for correcting customer spelling mistakes, incorrect dates, incorrect statistics, poor-quality photographs or other errors contained in information supplied or approved by the customer, unless the error was introduced by Gunbook after the customer's final approval.
We strongly recommend reviewing every page of the final preview before pressing Place Order.
11A. Bespoke Commissions and Estate Orders
Where a design is commissioned directly with us — for example, a bespoke design for your own book or an estate book — rather than built entirely through the app or website's standard ordering flow, the following additional terms apply:
- We will agree with you the number of design draft rounds included in the price before work begins. Revisions requested beyond that number, or requested after you have given written final approval, may be chargeable at our then-current rates.
- Final approval for a bespoke commission is given in writing (including by email) rather than by pressing an in-app order button, and has the same effect as pressing "Place Order" under Section 12: once given, the order is final on the same basis as any other personalised Gunbook order.
- Where the customer is an estate, shoot operator or other organisation ordering otherwise than wholly or mainly for personal, non-business purposes, Section 28 (Business and Corporate Users) applies to that order in place of the consumer protections in Section 27 and the statutory cancellation position described in Section 12.2, to the extent permitted by law.
- Ownership of the resulting design is as set out in Section 8.
12. Personalised Books – Final Approval, Changes and Cancellation
12.1 Your order is final
Personalised Gunbooks are manufactured specifically for an individual customer using that customer's photographs, information, selections and specifications.
WHEN YOU PRESS "PLACE ORDER", "BUY NOW", "ORDER BOOK" OR AN EQUIVALENT FINAL ORDER BUTTON — OR, FOR A BESPOKE COMMISSION, WHEN YOU GIVE WRITTEN FINAL APPROVAL UNDER SECTION 11A — YOU CONFIRM THAT YOU HAVE REVIEWED AND APPROVED THE PERSONALISED CONTENT AND AUTHORISE US TO PROCEED WITH MANUFACTURE.
Once a personalised book order has been submitted: THE PERSONALISED CONTENT AND SPECIFICATION OF THE ORDER CANNOT BE CHANGED. This includes requests to change: photographs; text; names; dates; statistics; book covers; layouts; pages; shoot information; captions; quantities; personalisation; or other production specifications.
Production may begin automatically and immediately after an order is accepted. We cannot guarantee that an order can be intercepted once it has entered our production system.
If we voluntarily agree to make a change after an order has been placed, this is entirely at our discretion and does not create an obligation to accept future changes.
12.2 No change-of-mind cancellation
Personalised Gunbooks are made to the customer's specifications and/or are clearly personalised. Accordingly, the statutory right to cancel most online purchases during the standard cooling-off period does not normally apply to these personalised goods under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
This means that once a personalised book order has been placed, you cannot cancel the order simply because you have changed your mind or subsequently notice an error in information that you supplied or approved.
Where the customer is a business (including most estate and shoot-operator orders — see Section 11A(3)), the Consumer Contracts Regulations do not apply to the order in any event, and this Section 12.2 applies as a matter of contract rather than as a restatement of a statutory exemption.
12.3 Customer errors
We are not required to provide a free replacement or refund where the finished book accurately reflects the information, photographs, layout or personalisation approved by you but you later discover that you: entered incorrect information; selected the wrong photograph; misspelled a name; entered an incorrect date; supplied incorrect shooting statistics; omitted information; selected the wrong book configuration; or otherwise made an error before submitting the order.
Where possible, we may offer a discounted replacement at our discretion, but we are not obliged to do so.
12.4 Statutory rights remain unaffected
Nothing in this Section affects your statutory rights where a product is faulty, damaged, not of satisfactory quality, does not match its description or materially differs from the final order approved by you because of an error for which Gunbook or its manufacturing partner is responsible.
13. Printing and Manufacturing Tolerances
Printed products can differ slightly from digital screen previews. By ordering, you acknowledge that reasonable manufacturing variations may occur, including minor differences in: colour; brightness; contrast; image positioning; cropping; paper; binding; print alignment; and trimming.
Screens display colours using illuminated digital technology whereas printed materials use inks and physical paper. Exact colour matching cannot therefore be guaranteed.
Minor variations that are normal within commercial printing tolerances will not ordinarily amount to a defect. This does not affect your statutory rights where a product is genuinely faulty or materially different from what was ordered.
14. Order Acceptance
Submitting an order constitutes an offer to purchase a product from Gunbook. We will normally send an electronic confirmation after receiving your order. A contract is formed when we accept the order and issue an order confirmation or otherwise begin processing the order for manufacture.
We may refuse or cancel an order before manufacture where: payment has not been authorised; the price displayed was clearly erroneous; the product is unavailable; the content breaches these Terms; we reasonably suspect fraud or misuse; or fulfilling the order would be unlawful.
If we cancel an order for one of these reasons after taking payment, we will refund the relevant payment unless we are legally entitled to retain it.
15. Prices and Payment
Prices displayed by Gunbook will state whether VAT and delivery are included or added separately. The final amount payable will be displayed before an order is submitted.
You must provide valid payment information. Payment may be processed by third-party payment providers. We do not normally store full payment-card information ourselves where payment is processed through an authorised payment provider.
We may change prices at any time, but changes will not normally affect orders already accepted.
16. Delivery of Physical Products
Estimated production and delivery times shown on the website or app are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise. We will use reasonable efforts to deliver products within the estimated period.
We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, although your statutory rights remain unaffected.
You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. Once an order has been submitted, changes to the delivery address cannot be guaranteed. If you notice an incorrect delivery address, contact us immediately. We may attempt to amend it where operationally possible, but we cannot guarantee that this will be possible once fulfilment has begun.
Risk in the goods passes to a consumer when the goods come into the physical possession of the customer or a person nominated by them, subject to applicable consumer law.
17. Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Products
If your personalised book arrives damaged, has a manufacturing defect or does not correspond with your confirmed order because of an error by Gunbook or our manufacturing partner, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
We may ask you to provide: your order number; photographs showing the problem; a description of the fault; and photographs of the packaging where the product was damaged during delivery.
We may offer an appropriate remedy such as replacement, repair, price reduction or refund depending upon the circumstances and your statutory rights.
For consumers, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 provides statutory rights in relation to goods that are faulty, not of satisfactory quality or not as described. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
A customer reporting a defect within the statutory short-term right-to-reject period retains all rights available under applicable consumer law.
18. Returns
Because personalised books are produced specifically for the customer, we do not accept returns of personalised products merely because the customer has changed their mind.
We also do not accept returns merely because the customer subsequently decides they would prefer different photographs, wording, dates, statistics, colours, layouts or other personalisation that was contained in or reasonably represented by the approved order.
This restriction does not apply where you have a statutory right to return, reject or obtain another remedy because the product is faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise fails to conform to the contract.
19. Lost or Delayed Deliveries
If an order has not arrived within the estimated delivery period, please contact us.
We may need to allow the carrier a reasonable period to investigate before confirming that a parcel has been lost.
Where a product is confirmed as lost, we will provide the remedy required by applicable law and may arrange a replacement.
20. Promotional Codes and Offers
From time to time we may provide discounts, promotional codes, referral offers or other promotions. Additional conditions may apply to individual promotions.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, promotions: cannot be exchanged for cash; cannot be used retrospectively; may have an expiry date; and cannot be combined with other promotions.
We may withdraw a promotion where there is fraud, misuse or a genuine pricing or technical error.
21. Privacy and Personal Data
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy explains the types of personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, how long it may be retained, who it may be shared with and the rights available to individuals.
Where Gunbook uses cookies or similar technologies, further information will be provided through our Cookie Policy or cookie-management system where required.
These Terms should be read together with the current: Gunbook Privacy Policy and Gunbook Cookie Policy
22. Location Information
Certain Gunbook features may use or record location information. Location information generated by smartphones, GPS systems, mapping services or mobile networks may not always be precise.
You must not rely upon location information displayed within Gunbook as the sole means of determining: a safe shooting direction; property boundaries; exclusion zones; the position of people; the position of roads or buildings; the position of beaters or Guns; rights of access; or whether firing a shot is safe or lawful.
You remain responsible for making appropriate real-world checks.
23. Weather and Third-Party Information
Weather forecasts and certain other information may be supplied by third-party providers. Such information can change quickly and may contain inaccuracies.
Gunbook does not guarantee the accuracy of third-party weather, mapping, location or similar data.
Links to third-party websites or services are provided for convenience and do not mean that Gunbook controls or endorses those services. Third-party terms may apply to services provided by them.
24. Acceptable Use
You must not use Gunbook: unlawfully; fraudulently; to harass another person; to infringe intellectual property; to distribute malicious software; to gain unauthorised access to systems or accounts; to interfere with the operation or security of Gunbook; to scrape or systematically extract Gunbook data without permission; to attempt to reverse engineer our software except where legislation expressly permits it; or in a way that creates an unreasonable risk to Gunbook, other customers or third parties.
We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe these requirements have been seriously breached.
25. Account Suspension and Termination
You may stop using Gunbook at any time. Where available, you may request closure of your account through the app or by contacting us.
Cancellation of an account does not automatically cancel or refund personalised book orders already submitted.
We may suspend or terminate an account where: you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms; payment remains unpaid; we reasonably suspect fraud; continued access presents a security risk; you use Gunbook unlawfully; or we are legally required to do so.
Where reasonable and lawful, we will give advance notice before terminating paid services.
Personal data associated with a closed account will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
26. Backups and Preservation of Memories
Although Gunbook may maintain backups as part of operating the service, Gunbook should not be treated as the sole permanent archive of irreplaceable photographs or information.
You should retain your own copies of important original photographs and other material.
We are not responsible for loss that could reasonably have been avoided by maintaining an appropriate copy or backup, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
27. Our Responsibility to Consumers
We are responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable consequence of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable where it was obvious that it would happen or both you and Gunbook knew it might happen when the contract was entered into.
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so. In particular, nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or any consumer right or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
If you use Gunbook primarily as a consumer, we are not responsible for business losses including loss of profit, revenue, contracts, business opportunity or business interruption.
This Section 27 applies to you where you are using Gunbook, or placing an order (including a bespoke or estate order under Section 11A), wholly or mainly for personal purposes. Where you are ordering wholly or mainly for business purposes, Section 28 applies instead.
28. Business and Corporate Users
If you use Gunbook wholly or mainly for business purposes, including as an estate, shoot operator, commercial host or corporate organiser, you acknowledge that consumer protections may not apply to the extent permitted by law.
This includes, without limitation, the statutory change-of-mind cancellation rights described in Section 12.2, which apply only to consumers and not to business customers in any event.
Except for liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, Gunbook will not be liable to a business user for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of business opportunity, loss of goodwill or business interruption arising from use of Gunbook.
Nothing in this Section excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
29. Events Outside Our Control
We will not be responsible for delay or failure caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control. These may include failure of internet or telecommunications networks, major technology outages, cyber incidents despite reasonable precautions, industrial disputes, natural disasters, severe weather, fire, flooding, war, terrorism, epidemics, government restrictions, transport disruption or significant failures affecting suppliers.
We will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect of such events. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
30. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect: changes to Gunbook; new features; changes in technology; changes in our business; changes in law or regulation; or security requirements.
The current version will be made available through the app or website. Where a change materially affects an existing paid subscription or other ongoing contractual relationship, we will provide such notice as is reasonably appropriate and as required by law.
Changes will not retrospectively alter a personalised book order already accepted unless required by law or expressly agreed with you.
31. Transfer of Rights
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, for example as part of a restructuring, investment, sale or transfer of the Gunbook business. Where required by law, we will notify affected customers.
You may not transfer your account or contractual rights to another person without our written agreement, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
32. Severability
Each provision of these Terms operates separately. If a court or relevant authority decides that any provision is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
33. No Waiver
If we do not immediately enforce a right under these Terms, this does not mean that we have waived that right.
34. Third-Party Rights
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a person who is not a party to the contract between you and Gunbook has no right to enforce these Terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
35. Complaints
We want to resolve problems promptly. Complaints should initially be sent to: Email: hello@gunbook.co.uk
Please include your name, email address, order number where applicable and a clear description of the issue.
We will aim to investigate and respond within a reasonable period. Nothing in this complaints process affects your legal rights.
36. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and any contract between you and Gunbook Limited are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer resident in England or Wales, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction whose mandatory consumer laws give you the right to bring proceedings in your home courts, nothing in these Terms removes those mandatory rights.
If you are acting as a business, the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.
